It covers an area of 140 sq km on the northern bank of the Uaso Nyiro.

The highlights of these national reserves are the spectacular scenic beauty, rivers and forests.  It is an area where the local people have a very rich and colourful cultural heritage.  Permanent water available from 32 km of river ensures that an abundance of wildlife exists in the reserves all times.

The main attractions are Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, the blue-necked Somali Ostrich and crocodiles in the river. 
Birdlife is prolific and colourful for such a relatively small area.
