Located in Namibia's southern coastal park is about 50,000 sq km and encompassing a wide range of different desert environments.

The park is composed of 3 sections, which are:

• The Naukluft Mountains, is ideal for hiking lovers
• The Sesriem area is breathtaking with Sossusvlei, known to contain some of the world's highest and most picturesque sand dunes. This is one of Namibia's main tourist attractions. Ballooning over the Namib is a popular activity.
• The Namib Rand Nature Reserve. It's an amazing and spectacular area of desert, from huge red sand dunes to vegetated inter-dune valleys, sand and gravel plains, and imposing mountains
