| KATAVI NATIONAL PARK |
|
Situated in the southwest of Tanzania and is one of the most untouched areas of the whole country. This park is said to have a greater density of game than any other park in Africa and yet it so remote and unreachable. The park is Africa at its most wild with stunning views and abundant wildlife. This is Africa's greatest secret. Hippos are the highlight of wildlife in Katavi because close to the end of the dry season (May-October), up to 200 hippos might flop together in any riverine pool of sufficient depth. Among some of its wildlife population that you will encounter are herd of buffalo and elephant, troupe of vervet monkeys, topi scattered amongst the grass, giraffe, zebra, rare roan, sable antelope, waterbuck, warthog and lots of different birds just to name few. The park is a must-see for the visitor intent on exploring the wilds of the continent. |
