| KAFUE NATIONAL PARK |

Located in central-western Zambia, the park covers more than 22000 sq km. It is the largest in Zambia and one of the largest in the world. Kafue's ecological diversity is the result of abundant wildlife and various species. The waters of Kafue River are home to large numbers of hippopotamus, crocodiles and water monitors. You will also encounter elephant, cheetah, lion, blue wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, impala, leopard and more. It has the highest density of antelope species in Africa. The Kafue and Lunaga Rivers offer amazing fishing opportunities, especially good bream, barbell and fresh water pike and most lodges are equipped for fishing activities. Kafue National Park is an excellent location for bird watching especially on the rivers and dambos with an impressive range of over 400 species of birds. Game viewing is best seen in the dry season from April to October, but the beauty of the park is at its best after the rains in the first half of the year. |
